Annual Springfield Restaurant Week returns June 9-18

Date: 6/7/2023

SPRINGFIELD — From American to Italian food and craft beer to coffee, the city of Springfield is home to a variety of restaurants, both big and small. To highlight those dining establishments and celebrate their offerings, Restaurant Week will return from June 9-18.

Springfield Business Improvement District Marketing and Creative Services Project Manager Samantha Savoie explained that Restaurant Week is an annual 10-day city wide event put on by the Springfield BID and the Springfield Restaurant Week Committee.

All week, the participating restaurants may have prix fixe menus, discounts and more. Savoie said they let the restaurants participate how they would like.

Ahead of the celebration, Savoie said they work to involve all restaurants throughout the community.

“[The Springfield Restaurant Week Committee] members split the city into sections and visit restaurants to inform them of what’s going on and talk about the benefits and encourage them to participate,” she shared.

Once a restaurant agrees to participate, the committee provides marketing information, which is conducted through social media and other outlets.

It is free for a restaurant to participate; however, they are asked to donate one gift certificate to be used in the marketing and promotion of Restaurant Week.

Some of the participating restaurants for 2023 include White Lion Brewing Company, Theodore’s, Ciro’s, Costa, 350 Grill Steakhouse, Bridge22, All American Bar, Grill & Patio and Nosh. For a complete list of this year’s participants, visit springfielddowntown.com/events/restaurant-week-2023.

Restaurant Week kicked off with a launch party on June 7 at Bridge22. Savoie said the new restaurant is located inside the recently opened Marriott in downtown Springfield, which not a lot of people know about yet. In past years, she said the launch party tickets have sold out and was expecting a good crowd this year as well.

“It should be a really great week,” said Savoie.

She shared that feedback from the participating restaurants is “usually great.”

Falling within the same timeframe of Restaurant Week, Bruno Mars will be performing at the MassMutual Center, along with comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. On June 11, the Ironman triathlon will also be coming to Springfield. Savoie said this is “perfectly timed with outside events and visitorship that week.”

In the past, Restaurant Week has taken place in April, however, Savoie said the June offering gives more restaurants the opportunity to offer outdoor dining.

“Our goal is to make Springfield a foodie destination and bring people [in from] near and far,” she shared.
