Balise headquarters to move to downtown Springfield

Date: 9/13/2023

SPRINGFIELD – According to Mayor Domenic Sarno, the recent announcement that Balise Auto Group will be moving its headquarters to downtown is evidence of the century-old relationship between the company and the city of Springfield.

Sarno joined the president of the company, Jeb Balise, at 1441 Main St. – the TD Bank building – on Sept. 5 to officially make the announcement.

Sarno described the company as “bullish on Springfield.” The mayor noted that the auto dealer has made a $10 million investment in the South End of the city with its auto dealerships and associated services.
The city’s Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan called the announcement “great news.”

Fifty-five employees will be moved to the new location, Balise explained, from their current West Springfield location. The Westside building will be used for an expansion of the auto parts segment of the business, he added.

The staff will occupy one floor of the TD Bank building.

Balise said his company is an ownership partner in the building. The name of the building will not change for the immediate future, and the TD Bank branch will not change locations, he added and the Mykonos Restaurant, formerly of the Eastfield Mall, will reopen in the building at the location of the former pizza shop on the ground floor.

The Greek eatery should open in about a month and there are plans to create an outdoor dining area for it, Balise noted.

According to the company’s website, “Balise is a third-generation family-owned company dedicated to serving loyal customers since 1919. In the years since, we’ve grown from a small garage in Hatfield, MA to 24 new and pre-owned car dealerships, a credit-assisting pre-owned car outlet, five collision repair centers and Flash Car Wash, one of the fastest-growing car wash operations in New England.”

Balise said, “Balise has always been committed to Springfield.”
