SPRINGFIELD – The annual traditions at MGM Springfield continued on Nov. 25 as dignitaries and others lit the MGM Springfield Christmas tree and opened the outside ice rink. Hundreds people attended the event as did MGM Springfield COO Chris Kelley, Mayor Domenic Sarno, members of the city’s legislative delegation, members of the New England Patriots cheerleading squad and the mascots from the Thunderbirds, Red Sox and Patriots. The Thunderbird’s Boomer took to the ice prior to the treelighting and a choir performed Christmas songs.
