New event venue comes to Springfield’s Liberty Heights

Date: 12/26/2023

SPRINGFIELD — Mary Irizarry, owner of Ivy’s Events, has expanded her local event planning business. This year, she opened Ivy’s Events, The Venue, a 1,600-square-foot event space located in the Springfield Plaza on 1295 Liberty St.

An intimate boutique event space with glitter floors, perfect for birthday parties, intimate weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, quinces, pop up shops, business meetings, holiday parties and classes. As well as offering full decor packages including day of event coordination, event staffing, backdrops, balloon art and more.

“It’s a one-stop shop under the Ivy’s Events umbrella,” Irizarry said. “The event venue is something I had in my radar for a very long time. I’m super excited to be able to finally open the doors so that the community can see what we can offer.”

Irizarry began event planning as a hobby, creating events for her children. Then from there it morphed into having family and friends asking her if she was willing to do it for their parties. For Irizarry it was a fun way to use her creativity and be able to create something she was proud of. Once Irizarry started getting more inquiries, Ivy’s Events was born and has been in business for over 10 years. With Ivy’s Events, The Venue, Irizarry wants to to ease the event planning process so her clients are able to enjoy their event without the hassle of coordinating all of the details. She wants to create the best day ever from coming up with the theme and adding personal touches for clients to see their idea come to life.

“The most rewarding part is seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces,” Irizarry added. “Ivy’s Events has taken me this far and I want to continue working harder because it definitely perseveres.”

She went on to say, “I’m very interested in having a lot of community events where we can do networking and getting to know small local businesses. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.”
