SPRINGFIELD – On Aug. 24, students, parents, teachers, Board of Trustees members and local dignitaries gathered for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new name for Springfield International Charter School. Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno spoke about the importance of the charter school’s inclusive mission. “Education is the key, it opens the door to everything in life,” said Sarno. State Rep. Bud Williams also spoke in strong support of the school, stating that the school’s diversity serves the citizens of Springfield unlike most suburban charter schools.
