SPRINGFIELD – Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno joined David Maynard and his staff to celebrate the grand opening of The Artist Café in downtown Springfield on Oct. 13. Maynard explained the café, located at 1365 Main St. would not just be a place to pick up your coffee, but will be an embodiment of Springfield’s arts scene, celebrating the visual, performing and culinary arts. Local artists’ work will be exhibited on the walls while a stage area will showcase local talents. Meanwhile, the café will host guest chefs in its kitchen while also featuring local drinks, including coffee from Monsoon Roastery and beer from White Lion Brewing Company. As part of the grand opening, Sarno declared it “The Artist Café Day” in the city of Springfield.
