SPRINGFIELD – The newest addition to the restaurant scene in Springfield is Wahlburgers, part of the MGM Springfield complex at the corner of Main and Union streets. The restaurant is the 50th for the Wahlberg brothers and Paul Wahlberg cut the ribbon with Mayor Domenic Sarno on May 25.
About 200 people were lined up waiting for the restaurant to open, some of whom stood in line from 6 a.m. until the eatery opened at 11 a.m.
In a statement, Sarno said, “I want to applaud MGM Springfield President and COO Chris Kelley and his team for their continued commitment, and support of our Springfield. Thank you to the Wahlberg family, especially Chef Paul Wahlberg for his belief and investment in our city.”
