WESTFIELD - In a surprise presentation on March 9 at Westfield High School (WHS), Mayor Richard K. Sullivan announced the names of the two volunteers of the year: Pat Kennedy and Korey Bruno.

The presentation was made to the 2005 City of Westfield Citizen Volunteers of the Year during the Third Annual Lunch and Concert with the POPS sponsored by the Committee to elect Richard K. Sullivan Jr.

The senior citizens ate lunch while listening to the rehearsal of the WHS Band and Jazz Ensembles of Pat Kennedy.

The lunch was catered by the WHS Culinary Arts Class of Margaret Toomey.

The 54th Annual WHS Pops Concert featured the theme "Pops 007: Bond and Beyond." Members of the WHS Band, the Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz combo thanked Sullivan and his wife, Lisa Sullivan, for sponsoring the luncheon.

The Pop's Concerts were dedicated this year to the memory of Douglas Ward, the WHS Band Director and Music Supervisor from 1948-1984.
