Evangel Assembly of God hosts annual holiday production

Date: 11/28/2018

WILBRAHAM – Each year, Evangel Assembly of God in Wilbraham puts on a Christmas show to help spread the true meaning behind the holiday. This year Director Colin Tracy has composed an alternate rendition of “The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe” called “Into The Wardrobe.”

Tracy attended University of Massachusetts as a Theater major and has been with the Evangel Assembly of God since 2016. Tracy is a self-published author and writes his own scripts and music for the shows he directs. For this show, he has kept his own script very similar to the original but he has made changes to best match the actors the church has and the message they are spreading.

There are around 30 cast members in the production. The majority of the actors are within the church community, but many of them are from the area that wanted to be involved in the show.

Rehearsals for the production began around Labor Day. Considering this is a volunteer based cast, Tracy planned to allot enough time for all the actors to rehearse around their busy schedules.

This year the show dates and times are Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but each year the church choses a local charity in which donations can be made to. The local charity will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made at the show.

Although it is free admission, the church is encouraging patrons to partake in their early registration. Individuals who register early will receive a voucher for the concession stand at the show. The Church also will be doing giveaways and raffles during intermission for a VIP backstage tour, a CD recording of the soundtrack or an “Into The Wardrobe” sweatshirt.
