HAMPDEN – State and town officials celebrated the completion of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant renovations to a portion of the playground at Memorial Park in Hampden.
State Sen. Eric Lesser said he’s also proposed an amendment that fills a $16,000 funding gap for additional playground renovations at Memorial Park.
“As the parent of a young child, I spend a lot of time at playgrounds. I know first hand how important this new playground will be for the families of Hampden and for the broader quality of life in our community,” he added.
Additional renovations would include ADA compliant renovations to another playground area, excavation of the area, and the creation of a retaining wall, he noted.
