WILBRAHAM – The Wilbraham Friends of the Library is hosting their Annual Art Exhibit from Sept. 2 to Sept. 29 in the Brooks Room of the Wilbraham Public Library.
This year’s exhibit features 28 artists who specialize in various mediums including pen and ink, pastel, watercolor, photography, oil, sculpture and more. Additionally, there are 42 pieces in a showcase of glass and acrylic necklaces.
Each of the 28 artists are either Wilbraham residents or members of surrounding towns, and all are friends of the library, according to Chairwoman Mary Bandouveres.
“The show’s focus is on promoting area artists rather than being a major fundraising event. That said, most of the pieces in the show are for sale, there will also be unframed pieces for sale at the reception Saturday,” Bandouveres said.
This year's display will feature some returning artists as well as artists who are new to the event.
“It’s really a beautiful mix of styles and mediums,” Bandouveres noted.
While visiting the exhibit is free and open to the public, this year there will be a raffle of two watercolor prints by Wilbraham artist Richard Stevens. To purchase a ticket for the raffle, they are $1 each or six tickets for $5.
A reception for artists and Friends will be held on Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Brooks Room of the library.
