| The family of Matthew Long would like to thank all the kind individuals who helped at the scene of his recent motorcycle accident on Oct. 21 on Cooley St. in front of the Rite Aid Pharmacy. We appreciate the help especially from Jen Cavanaugh, the manager at Burger King, the EMTs, the police, and many others who were on the scene and helped save his life with quick action. Also, we would like to extend our gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Baystate Medical Center's ER and ICU who continue to give him the best of care. You are terrific in our eyes. Matt has had several surgeries and his prognosis is positive. We are so grateful for all the prayers on his behalf, from family and friends and strangers. It will be a long recovery but he is doing well. Since we have not been able to communicate with Matt to find out what happened we would appreciate hearing from anyone with any information who might have witnessed it or was there shortly after the accident.
