A citywide thank you

Date: 12/6/2013

On behalf of the staff at the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round I would like to thank Mayor Alex Morse, the Holyoke Parks and Recreation Department, Pioneer Valley Railroad, the Holyoke Police Department and the many volunteers who joined forces on Nov. 30 for the City Of Holyoke’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Santa arrived along with the Mayor on the Pioneer Valley Railroad and as the train entered Heritage State Park, you could feel the excitement grow. During the event, more than 600 people were anxiously awaiting their turn to board the train for a visit with Santa!

The sounds of Christmas music were flowing inside the Merry-Go-Round, Mike Rondeau was in the park creating a beautiful ice sculpture, singers were entertaining awaiting eager children and their families with holiday tunes and hot chocolate and cookies were being passed out to warm everyone up and the thrill of the holiday season was in the air.

This event is a holiday tradition for many families and we at the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round are grateful for the opportunity to work with so many great organizations as we come together to celebrate the season.
