A Time For Action

I printed a sequence of articles appearing in the Reminder these past several weeks thanks to the kindness and generosity of Chris and Dan Buendo, co-publishers, and Courtney Llewellyn, assistant editor. I gave a series of articles about wonderful deeds and sometimes disappointments experienced by the Longmeadow Lions. Now, with your kind indulgence, I come to the specific object (as if you haven't surmised) of all those enlightening articles (I hope). I hope I'm not being selfish but selfless in inviting all that have been impressed and perhaps interested in attending an orientation meeting, featuring our current District 33Y District Governor Don Adams from Hinsdale, Mass. Pam Hopkins, past District Governor, Jean Martin, past District Governor, and Davis Jarvis, District 33Y Membership and Retention Chair and we hope to have several former club members at the meeting as well. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at the American Legion Hall opposite CVS and Rinaldi's on Longmeadow Street.

This orientation meeting, which is open to everyone, will expand on everything that has appeared in the previous articles. We ask no obligations. Questions and answers will be entertained. Please attend. Our future fate depends on new members. Refreshments and coffee and soft drinks will be served. Please RSVP to Dick Holmes, 120 Hawthorne St., Longmeadow, MA 01106 or by telephone at 567-7342. I have no fax or e-mail. Any comments or "letters to the editor" will be welcomed. Please reply by Sept. 5 so we can have a count to prepare accordingly.
