Beginning of the end

Date: 10/2/2012

The end may be predictable. When I was a youngster, many years ago, there were a few prophecies coming from individuals who either had a hunch or a premonition in their dreams that the earth would end on a certain given day. When that day arrived, we as kids would joke and make sport of that foretold nonsense.

But if a climatologist were to make such a prediction today, I would not be laughing.

The Arctic Sea ice may reach the final collapsing stage in just four more years while the once trapped methane gas is being released into the atmosphere. Professor Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University calls for an urgent consideration of new ideas to reduce global temperatures. He states we must urgently reduce CO2 emissions. He also encourages new geoengineering ideas on how to reflect the sun's rays back into space and making clouds whiter and seeding the ocean with minerals to absorb more CO2 gases. The sea ice is nature's air conditioning reflecting the sun's rays away from earth keeping tempuratures regulated.

One does not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that as our planet heats up, there will be wide-spread famine with the extinction of plants and animals which will undoubtedly lead to our own demise!
