Brown is man of his word

Last weekend Scott Brown proved he was a man of his word when he upheld his end of the People's Pledge, which is the historic agreement signed in January by Brown and Elizabeth Warren to keep Super PACs out of the Massachusetts Senate race. Under the terms of the pledge, a candidate would donate half the cost of any third-party ad run on his or her behalf to a charity of the other's choosing.

When an outside group ran a web ad last week praising Brown, he immediately asked that the ad be removed. Brown also donated three times as much as necessary to Warren's charity, the Autism Consortium.

Within hours, the third party group had taken its ad down, proving the pledge is working just as designed.

Scott Brown deserves credit for proposing, signing and standing by his pledge to keep these negative Super PACs off the Massachusetts airwaves. This election should be decided by the voters of our state based on the very real differences between the candidates. Kudos to Scott Brown for helping make that happen.
