Government waste

Date: 9/26/2011

Recently Diane Sawyer on TV revealed information about huge government waste currently going on at the U.S. Mint. She clearly stated that the mint was producing one dollar presidential coins at a cost of $650,000 daily due to an act of Congress. The coins are piling up and stored at a nearby storage house and now, because there are so many bags of coins, the government is building another warehouse in Texas to house them all.

Yes, she claims it cost $650,000 a day. I find this amazing that in the face of our national debt all this is actually happening. It’s probably the ‘tip of the iceberg’ and we all know that the dollar coins are not popular and that many places don’t accept them. Folks that are on SS and Medicare/Medicaid must be wondering how this is allowed? The coins are still pouring out of the mint as I write!

Please be aware now and call your senators, both of whom have Boston offices, and stop this nonsense! Honoring past presidents has been done in many ways. Why are we producing coins that people do not want and will not use?

Please call Senators Kerry and Brown at their Boston offices. They need to hear from you now!
