Help available to veterans

Date: 11/13/2012

On Oct. 27, the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 266 of Granby, conducted its inaugural Halloween Breakfast. The buffet style breakfast included pancakes, eggs, sausage and home fries. We even had our own resident witch and the children were able to have pictures taken with Ms. Witch.

A good time was had by all, but the best part was we raised $350 for our veterans. This money will go toward necessities for our veterans at Leeds.

The Auxiliary would like to thank Big Y Foods, Friendly's, and Parker's Sugar House for their generous donations, without which we would not have had such success.

On Dec. 8, the Auxiliary will again host a breakfast buffet with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The breakfast will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post, 74 Pleasant St.

The buffet is $5 per person, and children under 5 eat free. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures at $2 per person. The money raised will go toward scholarships for children of our veterans. Come for a good time, as well as for a good cause.

If you would like tickets, contact me at 467-9254. Also, if you are interested in learning more about what the Auxiliary does or possibly joining us, contact me as well.
