Join Granby Library Summer Reading Program

If you'd like your child to read more this summer, consider signing them up in the Granby Public Library's Read- at- Home Summer Reading Program "Wild reads at your library". Children are encouraged to read when they join a reading program with peers, read books they enjoy reading, receive encouragement as they read (or are read to) and find the library a fun place. Your child will also receive incentive prizes as he/she reads through the summer. This year thanks to a very generous sponsor, Waste Management's Granby Landfill and Recycling Convenience Center, we have many great raffle prizes for summer readers to read for and children's performers & presentations coming to enliven hot summer days.

Flyers have gone home through the Granby schools with students this week inviting parents and youth to join the library's summer reading fun. All area children are invited to join regardless of their school or community. We welcome with open arms parents reading to their very young children also!

The Granby Library's "for fun" flexible read-at- home program is perfect for the busy family because your child can read on vacation, at the beach, or in the car. Visit the library whenever or as often as you like. There is no obligation to attend weekly events. Readers must simply bring their reading logsheet and raffle tickets earned to the library by August 1st to receive their prizes.

When you sign up, from June 13 on, you will get a log- sheet and calendar of optional summer events. You or your child marks off time that they read (or are read to) on a logsheet clock. Your child can read favorite books from home, or from the library, any days, anytime between June 24 - Aug. 1. I would be happy to recommend some fun books for even the most reluctant readers, stressing that reading is pleasurable!

It's all free! Children of all ages and reading levels are welcome to join. Last year nearly 700 children joined the Granby Library Summer Program. Toddlers through teens! We invite you to check out Wild reads at your library this summer! You have nothing to loose, and so much to gain!
