Helbling re-assigned to Falcons

The Springfield Falcons, proud member of the American Hockey League, announced last week tht defenseman, Timo Helbling has been re-assigned to the Falcons by their National Hockey League affiliate, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Helbling will arrive in Springfield on Tuesday and is expected to practice with the Falcons on Wednesday at the MassMutual Center.

Helbling started the season with Tampa Bay out of training camp and played in two games with the Lightning not collecting a point. He made his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 5 against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound native of Basel, Switzerland was acquired by Tampa Bay from the Nashville predators on Feb. 25, 2004 in exchange for an eighth round draft pick in the 2004 Entry Draft.
