Coach Bob Wiles. Oct. 26 - 28 Springfield Junior Pics Mite Major 99 team won the New England Regional Silver Sticks Tournament in Bridgeport, Conn. There were teams from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine. They won in the semi-finals in triple overtime after a shootout. They won the final game after trailing the entire game 2-0 by scoring four goals in the last four minutes. By winning the tournament they have earned a berth in the international Silver Sticks tournament in Port Huron, Mich., in January. Over 65,000 participants play in regional tournaments across North America as far west as San Jose, Calif., south to Dallas, east to Bridgeport, Conn., and as far north as Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Champions from all these regions advance to the international tournament in Michigan. | ||||||
