SUFFIELD, CT – Connecticut Landmarks’ Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden presents a breathtaking photography exhibition, capturing the scenic personality of the Farmington River, by local photographer Tom Cameron Aug. 7 to Dec. 6. The opening reception and ArtWalk, will take place Aug. 7, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Cameron’s photography is a wonderful adventure that opens up the wild and secret places in our midst. Photos in this exhibit come directly from his time on and around the Farmington River, featuring images that appear on the river for a short while at the beginning of the day. The variety that light generates on and in the water is endless. Reflection symmetries, unique misty lighting and captured water motion dominate the collection.
Meet the artist at the opening reception then walk along Suffield’s historic South Main Street to Pentimento Flowers & Lily House Bed & Breakfast. Light refreshments will be served and is free and open to the public.
Cameron has become an informal ambassador for the scenic character of the Farmington River. His photography was used extensively in the Upper and the Lower Farmington River Wild and Scenic Management Plans and Study Report. They also have been exhibited in the Avon, Canton and Farmington libraries and other Connecticut galleries. For more information, visit www.tomcameronphoto.com.
