SPRINGFIELD – After working in corporate America for years, local businessman Gene Shaw knew he was ready to create his own destiny and open a business.
For quite some time he explored his options; all along mentors saying “you need to find a pain point and then solve the problem.”
That is when Gene saw an article by ABC News that said, “Not only are Americans working longer hours than at any time since statistics have been kept, but now they are also working longer than anyone else in the industrialized world. And while workers in other countries have been seeing their hours cut back by legislation focused on preventing work from infringing on private life, Americans have been going in the other direction.”
And thus Delivery413.com was born.
Delivery413.com solves two problems – one for the customer and one for the restaurateur. If you are stuck at your desk and can’t leave for lunch; forgot to stop at the grocery store on the way home or you’re just too tired to cook; or if you have a lunch meeting on Friday, but your Admin Assistant is off so now you have to run around getting the food, drinks, and supplies – you can avoid adding more stress to your life by logging on and the food shows up on-time, hot, and delivered by a polite, professional team member in uniform. “We have seen it all,” shares founder Gene Shaw, “Our customers are tethered to a desk, busy CEO’s, young professionals arriving home late; we even had a new Mom order from the hospital.”
This new business is not only a benefit to those hungry, but also to local restaurants.
“As a local restaurant it is extremely challenging to manage delivery ourselves, but we frequently get requests,” Nadim Kashouh, owner of Nadim’s Mediterraneanm said. “It has been a pleasure working with Gene and his team. Reputation is extremely important to my restaurant and I love the fact that Delivery413 works well with my staff, looks professional and is punctual. I have seen take-out sales increase even in the short time we have worked together.”
Currently Delivery413.com has relationships with Nadim’s; as well as Rinaldi’s Italian Specialties, Christopher's Sports Tavern Bar & Grill, Tao’s Asian Cuisine, Villa Napoletana, Saray II and Panjabi Tadka. They are also looking for more interested restaurants to join the partnership.
Delivery413 serves lunch and dinner to Springfield, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, and Hampden; with high hopes of living up to the company name and expanding services throughout the Pioneer Valley.
Gene Shaw, a Springfield resident who grew up in East Longmeadow, said, “I love being able to help someone with something as simple as one of ‘Maslow’s Hierachy of Needs’ – food. As the father of two young boys with many extracurricular activities and a working spouse I can completely understand why people need this service and I am thrilled to be able to provide it.”
Nicole Griffin, owner of Griffin Staffing Network added, “When I have client lunch meetings in my office I found many of the higher quality restaurants did not deliver.
