PeoplesBank opens branch makes contribution SPRINGFIELD PeoplesBank, the largest locally based bank serving Hampden and Hampshire Counties, has announced that it will donate $75,000 to help the City of Springfield restore the closed Greenleaf Community Center in Sixteen Acres. The Bank's donation coincides with the opening of its newest full-service office, and the first PeoplesBank office in the City of Springfield, located at 1900 Wilbraham Rd. Joseph D. LoBello, President and CEO of PeoplesBank, announced the donation at a ribbon cutting ceremony that officially opened the new Sixteen Acres office on September 21st. "We are happy to support the City of Springfield in their effort to renovate the Greenleaf Community Center," stated Mr. LoBello. "For years, it served as an important resource for the youth and families in this neighborhood. We want to do what we can to get the doors open again." "This donation will allow us to complete the project. It will primarily fund renovation of the kitchen, which will provide us with the ability to serve meals to seniors in the neighborhood."
