SPRINGFIELD Bare Necessities is pleased to announce the success of their fourth annual Charity Day benefiting Rays of Hope. This year's event took place Oct. 13 at Bare Necessities' Springfield location. Bare Necessities donated 20 percent of all sales for the day to Rays of Hope. Over $3,500 was raised this year bringing, the four year total to over $12,000. "The day was a complete success," said Maureen Stabnau, Senior Vice President of Bare Necessities. "Every person who walked through the door had heard about the event and was there for the cause. That was incredibly touching." Due to their success over the past four years, Bare Necessities is one of the sponsors for Rays of Hope's first calendar for the cause. The calendar, created by photographer Denise Smith, is compiled of photographs and stories of twelve different breast cancer survivors. Only 1,500 copies of the calendar have been produced and are being released exclusively at the Rays of Hope Walk on Oct. 28.
