"Real Men, Real Depression" HOLYOKE Holyoke Medical Center will present the free community education program, "Real Men, Real Depression," on Feb. 15, beginning at 6 p.m. in the facility's Auditorium. Manager of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services Baxter Chandler, LICSW, will focus his discussion on spotting signs of depression. These could include such factors as whether one has lost interest in doing some of his favorite things; whether someone is always tired and lacking energy; and whether someone is having trouble concentrating, remembering, or making decisions. These could be signs of depression, a serious, but treatable medical condition that can strike anyone. In America, more than 6 million men have depression each year. Join Baxter Chandler as he discusses when the symptoms of depression need treatment and how more than 80 percent of men improve when they receive appropriate treatment. Preregistration is required as seating is limited for this program. To preregister or to obtain more information, please call Holyoke Medical Center's Health Promotion Line at 534-2789. |
