Cancer House of Hope hosting new workshop: 'Sisters in Survivorship'
SPRINGFIELD If you've been touched by breast cancer, it helps to talk to someone who's been there before. Join American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery volunteers on April 29 at the Cancer House of Hope, located at 946 Plumtree Road in Springfield, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for "Sisters in Survivorship," a new support group offering practical advice and encouragement for women facing breast cancer. Reach to Recovery volunteers are specially trained breast cancer survivors who understand your concerns.
Attendees will receive an informational kit, a handmade tote bag, a comfort quilt and pillow, and, if needed, practical items, such as bra extenders and temporary prostheses. Newly diagnosed women will also receive a complimentary copy of the Breast Cancer Journey. Register early as space is limited. Please contact Sara Mutch at your local American Cancer Society office for more information and to RSVP at 493-2155 or at sara.mutch@cancer.org. Guests are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
