Don't panic, anxiety programs offered in Holyoke
HOLYOKE Holyoke Medical Center will present a free community education program concerning anxiety disorders on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. in the Auxiliary Conference Center (formerly known as the Holyoke Medical Center Auditorium).
"DON'T PANIC!! Facts About Anxiety Disorders," will be presented by Baxter Chandler, LICSW, manager of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services at HMC.
Among the topics he will be addressing are: Are you often feeling tense and "thinking about things" too much? Does your anxiety interfere with eating and sleeping patterns? Are you not even sure why you are filled with uncertainty and fear?
Anxiety disorders are very common and affect about 40 million American adults each year. Unlike the mild, brief anxiety caused by a stressful event, anxiety disorders can last for months and can get worse if they are not treated. The good news is that there are many ways to address the symptoms of anxiety. Join Chandler as he describes the symptoms of common anxiety disorders, the potential causes of these conditions, and effective treatments.
Preregistration is required to attend this program as seating is limited.
