Fadus named new VP at Mercy Medical Center

SPRINGFIELD – Doreen Fadus has been named vice president of Mission Integration and Community Health and Well Being for Mercy Medical Center and the Sisters of Providence Health System.

In this position, she will work closely with all members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the heritage and legacy of the Sisters of Providence continues to have a prominent place through the ministry.

Fadus began her career at Mercy in 2001 as director of Health Care for the Homeless. In her most recent position as executive director of Community Benefit and Health, her responsibilities included overseeing Health Care for the Homeless, Mercy’s Vietnamese Health Project, Faith Community Nursing, High End Utilizer Program and Community Benefit.

Fadus has an extensive background in community service.  In 2015, she was named President of the Board for the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.  She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Western Mass Network to End Homelessness, as an Advisory Board member of the Hampden County Continuum of Care Board, the Catholic Charities Diocesan Board and the Western Mass Task Force on Homelessness, and as a Member of the Regional Employment Board. The founder and past President of Dress for Success Western Massachusetts, Fadus also serves on the Board of Friends of the Homeless.

Fadus received a master’s degree in education (guidance/psychological services) from Springfield College, a bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, and an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Bay Path University in Longmeadow. Fadus is also a graduate of the Mission Leaders in Healthcare program at Aquinas Institute of Theology at St. Louis University.
