Help find a cure at annual Arthritis Walk
The 3rd Annual Greater Springfield Arthritis Walk will take place on Oct.14 at Forest Park.
The event offers scenic one- and three-mile routes for walkers as well as recreational activities for non-walkers.
Join Honorary Chair, Channel 40 Sports Anchor Scott Coen and Springfield Falcons mascot Screech as they kick off the walk at noon.
If you have arthritis or know someone who does, you can help find a cure by participating in this inspirational event. Proceeds benefit the Arthritis Foundation and will be used to fund critically needed arthritis research and vital patient/community services. Arthritis strikes people of all ages, including children. It impacts one in every five Americans and has become the nation's leading cause of disability. In Massachusetts alone, nearly 1.5 million adults and 3,000 children suffer from arthritis and related diseases.
Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. Online registration is available at www.GSAWalk.kintera.org. For more information, please contact the Arthritis Foundation at 1-800-766-9449 ext. 125 or via email at chatteinthedark@comcast.net.
