JCC fitness options
New instructors bring an array of fitness options to the JCC
SPRINGFIELD New fitness instructors have recently been hired at the Springfield Jewish Community Center, including Adrian Burgos, who previously worked at Canyon Ranch in Lenox. Adrian teaches non-traditional aerobics classes such as "Boot Camp," "Cardio Boxing," and "Teen Aerobic Circuit Weights."
Also new to the staff, Lori Rockwell, Nancy Carter, and Theresa Allen offer various levels of aerobics to meet individual needs. Matt Davison offers 7th through 12th graders a cardiovascular routine using stationery bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines and the stair master.
"It's not enough for a health club to offer one style of aerobics these days," says Stuart Greene, JCC health and P.E. director. "Everyone needs a class designed for his or her specific fitness level and goals."
In addition to new staff, the JCC has retained its veteran instructors, Doug Allen and Donna Obernesser, to continue teaching spinning, over 55 fitness, and more. And for those who prefer to attain their fitness goals in the pool, Cassy Currie is presently offering four water aerobics classes.
For a comprehensive schedule and description of fitness classes, stop by the Springfield JCC at 1160 Dickinson Street, or call Mary St. Germain at 739-4715.
