No need for an extra set of eyes today
BOSTON Rep. Mary Rogeness announced an ongoing state sponsored program with the Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library offered to all residents of the state that have trouble reading traditional print due to a disability or impairment.
The Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library is a free public library that provides large print and Braille books, audio books along with playback equipment, telephone newspaper access and audio-described videos to people with visual impairment. Furthermore, the materials can be mailed directly to your door and returned to the library through the United States Postal Service at no charge to you as the consumer.
"This specialized library can provide hours of leisure or enlightenment to individuals who lack the access to visual media that many of us take for granted," stated Rogeness. "If you are reading these words and know of someone who lacks that ability, please pass along the information to that friend."
