AFSP hosts remembrance service for loved ones lost to suicide

A Remembrance service for those who have lost someone to suicide will be held Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut St., EOMR/ground floor of Portor Building. Parking is free in lot F directly outside. Refreshments will be served and there is no charge for this event, but donations at accepted. The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Western Massachusetts Chapter welcomes all those who have lost a loved once to suicide each year to this candle lighting and remembrance ceremony. This is a nondenominational event meant to celebrate the life of loved ones who have lost their life's battle to suicide. There is an opportunity to speak about the loved one who died from suicide and light a candle in their name.

There will be music and readings meant to commemorate our loved ones. Coffee and light refreshments will be available at the event. All are welcome, friends, family and loved ones.

The support group Healing After Suicide meets the first and third Mondays of every month. There is no charge for the group and for more information contact Carol at 565-6684 or clauro@conversent.net.
