Seminar to discuss health resolutions and raise funds for aid in New Orleans
On Feb. 5 at the Hadley Courtyard Marriott, five leading Pioneer Valley health, fitness and personal care professionals will deliver the seminar "How to Make 2008 Your Best Year Ever" as a community awareness and fundraising event for Spirit In Action's RETHINK Project to help rebuild New Orleans schools.
"The purpose of this event is to kick-off 2008 by teaching Pioneer Valley residents a proven strategy for achieving their New Year's Resolutions of health and fitness and raising money for a great charity that I feel strongly about," BeFit Health and Wellness Solutions owner Holly Leonard, a certified fitness and nutrition professional with five years experience serving over 300 Pioneer Valley residents, explained.
"Most people set health and fitness goals for the New Year, and start off with full momentum, but burn out quickly and never reach their goals. At this seminar, we will reveal how anyone with the desire can make 2008 the year their weight loss and fitness goals are finally achieved," Leonard said. "The line-up of health, fitness and personal care experts I've assembled is formidable. We're all very confident we can have a real impact on the health of our community and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time. We intentionally chose the name of the event because of its big promise. Pioneer Valley residents have supported our businesses over the years, and now we want to give back by showing them how to really make 2008 their best year yet."
Among the speakers present will be Craig Della Penna, executive director for Northeast Greenway Solutions, a small consulting firm set up to help bring cogent solutions to communities developing rail trails and greenways; Leslie Cerier, organic cookbook author of "Going Wild in the Kitchen" and cooking class instructor will share quick and easy tips for meal planning; Dr. Spencer Burling, owner of River Valley Chiropractic will also be in attendance speaking on the topic "Pain Relief Through Understanding: Putting the Power Back Into Your Hands"; and Linda McDonald, owner of REACH Resources, a personal and professional life coaching company, will be there to share how to adopt healthy and positive habits in our lives for this new year and beyond.
The "How to Make 2008 Your Best Year Ever" seminar and fundraising event for Spirit In Action's RETHINK Project will begin at 7 p.m. at the Hadley Courtyard Marriott. All Pioneer Valley residents are invited. There is no cost to attend other than a small $5 - $10 donation to RETHINK at the door.
