AGAWAM — Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. across Massachusetts for the “Super Tuesday” presidential primary election on Tuesday, March 5, including at the usual voting locations in Agawam.
Additionally, the towns is offering in-person early voting 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Feb. 29 and March 1 at the Senior Center, 954 Main St., Agawam.
Super Tuesday polling places in Agawam are Sapelli School (formerly Robinson Park School; Precinct 1), 65 Begley St., Agawam; Granger School (Precinct 2), 31 S. Westfield St., Feeding Hills; Agawam High School (Precinct 3), 760 Cooper St., Agawam; Doering School (Precinct 4), 68 Main St., Agawam; Phelps School (Precinct 5), 689 Main St., Agawam; Clark School (precincts 6 and 8), 65 Oxford St., Agawam; and Agawam Junior High School (Precinct 7), 1305 Springfield St., Feeding Hills. Voters can look up their address to find their assigned precinct at www.sec.state.ma.us/WhereDoIVoteMA.
Each voter can cast only one presidential primary ballot. Registered members of the Democratic, Libertarian or Republican parties can vote in their party’s primary election only. Voters who are registered but unenrolled in a party — also called “independent” — can choose any one of the three party ballots.
Candidates on the Democratic ballot, in ballot order, are Dean Phillips, incumbent President Joseph Biden, and Marianne Williamson. Candidates on the Libertarian ballot are, from top to bottom, Jacob George Hornberger, Michael D. Rectenwald, Chase Russell Oliver, Michael Ter Maat and Lars Damian Mapstead. Candidates on the Republican ballot are, in order, Chris Christie, Ryan Binkley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley. Several of the GOP candidates are appearing on the ballot despite having already suspended their campaigns.
Democratic and Republican voters will also help choose one man and one woman to represent the state Senate district that includes Agawam on state party committees. There are no contests on the Democratic ballot, where Marjorie Dunehew of Holyoke is the only candidate for state committee woman and Daniel Kelly of West Springfield is the only candidate for state committee man. Republicans have a choice of Nathan Bech of West Springfield or Richard Berrena of Holyoke for state committee man. Linda Vacon of Holyoke is the only candidate for GOP state committee woman.
