Tighe & Bond celebrates 100 years

WESTFIELD — As part of its 100th anniversary celebration this year, Tighe & Bond is lining up a series of events to give back to its communities, recognize its clients, appreciate its employees and publish a book on the firm's history. The firm recently announced its first and most important event, The Centennial Project.

Although giving back to the community and demonstrating a high level of corporate social responsibility has been a hallmark of the firm throughout its history, this initiative is different. As part of Tighe & Bond's 100th anniversary celebration, the firm will identify two worthy projects for non-profit agencies that are in need of Tighe & Bond's services, and then provide each with $50,000 worth of pro bono engineering services.

To identify potential projects for these services, Tighe & Bond has developed a request for proposals (RFP) that non-profit organizations can complete if they are interested. Tighe & Bond will be considering projects in the primary regions that they serve; this includes the states of Mass-achusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. Preferably these will be projects that are in the planning stages and have a targeted con-struction date.

The RFP for The Centennial Project can be found at http://centennialproject.tighebond.com and provides details on sub-mittal requirements and selection criteria. RFP submittals are due by 5 p.m. on April 29.

"Tighe & Bond is looking forward to giving back to the community at large in a significant and meaningful way," Fran Hoey, senior vice president at the firm who is overseeing the project, said. "We have a passionate and generous staff that believes strongly in helping others in need so this is only natural."

In addition to The Centennial Project, Tighe & Bond is planning client appreciation events in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. The firm is also planning a weekend employee event in New Hampshire and publishing a commemorative book that documents the firm's history and people.
