Academy Hill school celebrates 25th anniversary

Date: 11/8/2010

SPRINGFIELD -- Academy Hill students and faculty began their school day on Oct. 4 in celebration.

On the occasion of the 25th year of education, 109 students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade gathered to pledge allegiance to the flag and to sing the school song.

The students heard a brief history of the school by Interim Head of School Carolyn Price and were enlightened by some important facts shared by one of the founding teachers, Carol Rosenthal. With great pride Mrs. R said. "I can't think of a better way to have spent the past 25 years."

The school has a year-long plan of celebration which includes an alumni leadership forum. This exciting program is being lead by our sixth grade class and the hope is that our current students will learn from the experiences of the students that who have gone before them.

For the past 25 years Academy Hill has been successfully nurturing and challenging bright minds.
