Arcadia presents "Wonders of Wetlands"

Wonders of Wetlands and Aquatic Wild: Two for One, Apr. 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, Easthampton. For teacher of K-eight and other interested adults.

Facilitators are Kim Noyes, Environmental School Program Coordinator, Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center and Patti Steinman, Education Coordinator, Connecticut Valley Sanctuaries, Massachusetts Audubon Society.

Aquatic Wild is a national award winning environmental educational program that explores marine and freshwater environments. Wonders of Wetlands (WOW) will bring wetlands alive and into your classroom. Together, these two curriculum guides contain over 100 classroom friendly activities. The activities are designed to supplement and enhance teachers' current curricula. Information, techniques and hands-on experience will familiarize you with the programs and how to use the materials. We will also explore an aquatic environment.

Participants will receive both the Aquatic Wild Activity Guide and the WOW Curriculum Guide. Participants can receive seven hours towards professional development and No Child Left Behind after completing workshop requirements. The workshop will take place both indoors and outdoors so dress appropriately for the weather. Morning refreshments will be provided; bring a lunch. For information and registration, contact Noyes at 659-4462.
