Children's program focuses on safety

HOLYOKE As parents, we know its important to encourage our children to explore and experience all that the world has to offer but can we do this without going grey maybe if they do it safely!

And you can never start to early. That's why the Children's Museum at Holyoke as part of its Preschool Playhouse program series is offering a new weeklong program this summer focusing on safety for preschoolers including - fire, bike, water and personal safety. They will learn and try various age appropriate prevention techniques, read stories like "Stop, Drop and Roll," ride through a bike safety obstacle course, and meet and interview the special people in our communities that help keep us all safe.

While safety will be our focus, children will also have an opportunity to sample other hands-on arts and science activities including: papermaking, boat building, sound explorations, and of course time to enjoy their favorite exhibits, and ride on the Merry-Go-Round.

This program is will run Monday - Friday, August 7-11 from 9 a.m. to Noon. Children ages 3-5 are welcome. Pre-registration is required - to sign up, please call: 536-7048.
