Dance studio to collect used eyewear for Lions Club and Gift of Sight program

Mary Ann Studio Dancers get into the eyewear spirit for Halloween.

This October the staff and students at the Mary Ann Studio of Dance are asking you to scare up your used eyewear. The used eyewear will be recycled by Give the Gift of Sight and Lions Club International and hand-delivered to underprivileged people in North America and around the world.

Over the past nine years, the Give the Gift of Sight promotion has collected and distributed more tan 1,000,000 pairs of used eyewear.

Involving our dancers in this project is a tangible way to participate in a global act of kindness, which will change lives.

Mary Ann and her dancers ask you to look for your used prescription eyeglasses and non-prescription sunglasses that you may have tucked away in a drawer around your home or office. We do not care if they are big or small, the latest style or not your eyewear could help someone in a developing country see the world more clearly.

Give the Gift of Sight is a family of charitable programs providing free vision care and eyewear to underprivileged individuals in North America and in developing countries around the world. The eyewear collected will be repaired and classified by prescription and then hand-delivered to people in need.

Please feel free to drop off your eyewear at the Mary Ann Studio of Dance at the main studio at 1168 Boston Rd. or at the Agawam studio, 745 Main St. (in the Agawam Congregational Church) between the hours of 5 and 7 in the evening.
