HCC Environmental Science Department to host Pioneer Valley Outdoor Fair

HOLYOKE – Come to Holyoke Community College (HCC) on April 26, for a day full of fun and outdoor adventures.

The HCC Environmental Science Department will be hosting the second annual Pioneer Valley Outdoor Fair that day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the HCC campus, 301 Homestead Ave., rain or shine.

Outdoor clubs and organizations from all over the Pioneer Valley will converge on the HCC campus to showcase what they do. Visit the information booths in the HCC Kittredge Center to learn more about opportunities for enjoying the outdoors in the region, then take part in one of many attend outdoor events.

Go birding with the Allen Bird Club, take a hike with the Wilbraham Hiking Club or bring the kids to a “Noticing Nature” event with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. See the huge and beautiful mineral display by the Connecticut Valley Rock and Mineral Club, go on a hike with geology professors or go mountain biking with the New England Mountain Biking Association. There will also be climbing demonstrations, solar telescope viewing, a dragonfly and damselfly program and much more.

More than 20 outdoor groups will be attending and there will be events for both adults and children going on all day long.
