Young women invited to Nov. 16 ‘Color of Justice’ seminar at WNU Blake Law Center

SPRINGFIELD — Western New England University School of Law and the National Association of Women Judges will host “The Color of Justice” on Nov. 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Blake Law Center on the university’s Springfield campus. This free program is open to young women in high school and college.

The purpose of The Color of Justice program is to encourage girls, women and minority students to consider the law and judgeships as career goals. The program, which provides an environment where discussion and debate among participants can flourish, includes panel discussions with judges and lawyers sharing personal and professional insights as well as opportunities for participants to ask questions.

Judges scheduled to take part in the program include Supreme Judicial Court Justice Barbara Lenk, Appeals Court Justice Ariane D. Vuono, as well as judges from the Superior Court, District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate and Family Court. The judges will be joined by local attorneys and Western New England School of Law Dean of Admissions Michael Johnson for discussions on the rewards of the profession and how to prepare for a career in law.

The event is sponsored by the National Association of Women Judges.
