HCC seeks health professionals for series of career panelsDate: 8/19/2016 HOLYOKE – Holyoke Community College (HCC) is seeking alumni and other professionals working in the health care industry for a new series of career panels the college is launching this fall.
The new “Alumni & Friends in ...” career panel series is an effort to encourage students to explore, research and solidify their career paths before graduation. It is collaboration of HCC’s Office of Academic Initiatives, Center for Career Development and Alumni Relations office.
The first two panels will focus on careers in the healthcare industry.
“Alumni & Friends in the Business of Health Care” is scheduled for Sept. 22, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
For this panel, HCC is seeking four to six alumni or other individuals who work in the areas of reimbursement/insurance claims; medical billing; medical coding; managed care; health information technicians; medical secretaries; insurance policy and claims.
“Alumni & Friends in Community Health” is scheduled for Oct. 27, 11 to 12:15 p.m.
For this panel, HCC is seeking four to six alumni or other professionals working as social workers, mental health counselors, substance abuse counselors, group home managers, community health workers, epidemiologists, medical assistants, and related jobs in public health.
HCC Foundations of Health faculty member Elizabeth Hayward-Jansen will moderate the panels, which will be presented to students enrolled in “Health 101: Introduction to Health Careers.” Each panel will include a question and answer session followed by networking time over light refreshments.
