RETREAT OF HEALING AND HOPE
The Catholic Charismatic Community of Springfield is sponsoring internationally kjnown Father Richard McAlear, OMI for their annual retreat. Many in this area have experienced physical, emotional and spiritual healings through his ministry. Because of limited rooms and seating for this event, advance registrations are being accepted now. there are some double rooms available. The retreat will run from Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. to Nov. 13 at Holy Family Retreat house in West Hartford, CT. For more information, call Lorraine Bernier 413-547-0118.
HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS
Baystate VNA & Hospice will sponsor a volunteer training course beginning October 18. Baystate Hospice serves the greater Springfield are including Chicopee. Hospice volunteers provide two or more hours of time a week lending support companionship, and practical help to Hospice patients and their families. Volunteers usually take one patient at a time and work with that patient throughout the course of the illness; providing companionship and support, errands, transportation and respite for families. Hospice is also seeking volunteer therapists trained in massage, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch. Volunteers are required to attend a 20-hour evening training program. The training course is offered free to participants. Plenty of support, education and comradeship will be provided as you help in a deeply meaningful way.
