STCC offers web-based medical coders course
SPRINGFIELD The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College recently announced the availability of a web-based program that is designed to prepare individuals to enter careers as medical coders and billers. The series of six online courses range from basic to advanced medical coding and is open to individuals interested in gaining insurance coding skills for an entry-level position, to the coder who desires educational enrichment through earning CEUs, and to the coder who is preparing for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certification Exam.
Medical coders work in hospitals, physician offices, insurance companies and at home on a freelance basis. Individuals who successfully complete the certification exam after completion of the training program will be known as Certified Professional Coders, using the credential "CPC" after their name.
Courses will begin soon and interested individuals are invited to call the Center at 755-4225 or 755-4502 to request a detailed brochure.
