| By Natasha Clark Reminder Assistant Editor LONGMEADOW The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) confirmed to Reminder Publications that they received a video concerning a possible environmental issue in the town of Longmeadow. "We received a video document on CD," said Elizabeth Steinhart of the DEP. Steinhart said she could not confirm what was on the CD. "We're trying to observe another instance of it happening," Steinhart added. "We don't know what the video was of. Supposedly [it is of] something in the river," said Department of Public Works Director Michael Wrabel. "I spoke with the DEP about that. They're unsure of what it is and are trying to determine what it is." Longmeadow is currently under a consent order with the DEP for previous environmental issues. "We are working along with the DEP and trying to comply with the consent order, and we are in weekly contact with the DEP," Wrabel added. |
