Teacher receives excellence award

LONGMEADOW Elizabeth Kranz, First Grade Teacher at St. Mary's School, Longmeadow, has been chosen to receive the highly prestigious Teacher Excellence Award.

This award is bestowed annually to teachers based on the criteria including: demonstration of professionalism through excellence in teaching practices, their own professional development; reaching above and beyond to the community, the classroom and volunteerism, the respect by peers, students, and parents, and her enthusiasm towards her work.

The award recognizes those who on a daily basis significantly affect the lives of children.

The Irene E. and George A. Davis Foundation, the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation, the Mass Mutual Financial Group, the Community Foundation and the Southworth Paper Company provide funding for this program to honor teachers in the Pioneer Valley for their tremendous impact on children and their community.
