Damage in Forest Park

The city's largest park received considerable damage from the recent torrential rains and Patrick Sullivan, head of the Parks and Building Department, said that some repairs may have to wait until next spring or summer. He said that within the next two week repairs will be made to catch basins in certain areas of the park and temporary fencing will be erected around some areas. Because the city does not have the money to undertake other restorations, they will have to wait until state and federal assistance levels have been established. Sullivan said he hopes to hear about that assistance within the next two to three weeks.
