WILBRAHAM Sonia Flagg is hoping you will sign on to help out a family during this holiday season.

While regular customers at her Profile Hair Salon location in Post Office Park are used to receiving tiny tokens of appreciation around this time of year, Flagg has decided to have them help her in taking her gift giving up a notch.

Every time a customer comes in to have a treatment from now until mid-December, Flagg will donate one dollar for every signature collected. Customers help out by signing their names when they come through.

"Usually I give out a little gift to my customers each year -- shampoo or hair care product. With the economy the way it is instead of what I usually do, [I thought] I would do this," Flagg said. "We have a list of customers that we've seen since November. Everyone is really excited."

The efforts will benefit a local Wilbraham family. As of today, over 90 people have signed their names. Flagg believes when all is said and done close to $300 may be raised. Even the salon staff are climbing on board and forefeiting their annual holiday gift exchange to donate their funds to the cause.

"We deal a lot with the public and we just hear so many stories ... We all seem to have enough things that we can afford to buy or give away," Flagg added. "Just knowing that we help someone who really, truly needs it is going to make everyone feel better."
