AJWC to host annual fashion show and brunch to benefit their scholarship fund

AGAWAM The Agawam Junior Women's Club (AJWC) will highlight its 49th year by again hosting a fashion show and brunch on March 5 at Chez Josef in Agawam to benefit their annual Scholarship Fund.

Coldwater Creek of Evergreen Walk in South Windsor, Conn. will present their exclusively featured casual, career and evening fashions for women during the AJWC "Collage of Color." Many of the volunteer models will be current AJWC members.

Chez Josef will open its doors at 11 a.m. for the event's social hour. There will be musical entertainment while guests have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and view the display of gift baskets.

At 12 p.m. Chez Josef will serve its buffet brunch including their famous 'Apple Morning Glories,' a breakfast array of dishes, chicken francaise with sides of pasta, red bliss home fries and vegetable choices.

Last year, the AJWC contributed $3,700 in college scholarships to graduating Agawam seniors from the proceeds of this event. The AJWC is again asking area businesses and retailers to partner with them for this scholarship fundraiser by providing monetary donations, gift certificates or raffle baskets.

To commemorate the group's 49th year, the AJWC has set a goal of $4,900 for this year's Scholarship Fund.

Tickets are $27 each and should be purchased in advance. Reserved seating for tables of ten may be secured with advance payment by Feb. 23 to the AJWC. To purchase your tickets, please call Theresa Conklin at 786-6515.
